Tim Dunaway

Tim graduated with honors from the Carsten Institute of Cosmetology, after graduation he went to work and assisted Carsten himself while being taught the French haircutting technique perfected by Bruna Pittini of Paris, an exclusive technique used only by the elite top stylists in the World.

Tim has also done extensive classes with the Vidal Sassoon Academy in Toronto Canada, first in 2006 and secondly in 2010.

He has participated in the master class at the Aveda institute with Oscar Bond and his team in New York City, along with the Van Council Team from Atlanta Georgia.

Tim supports his career with 3 licenses of Michigan, Arizona and Florida.

Tim believes education is key for a successful salon, and is proud to employ and work beside the best hairstylists in Petoskey, MI.


Missy McPhail

Missy McPhail

Missy moved to Petoskey in March of 2011 from Lansing to manage Salon Nouvea Vous. She started her education at Douglas J Aveda Institute in East Lansing in 1997. During and after cosmetology school Missy continued to obtain as much special training and certification as possible in Lansing, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Petoskey, Mackinaw City, Cincinnati, and Minneapolis. While working with Wella Color she got her certification in Detroit as a color educator for Wella. Once Aveda completed their color line she then became the Aveda color coach for her salon.  Through that salon, Missy had quarterly education in Michigan, Ohio, and Minnesota. Missy also competed in a Nation wide Innercroifure contest and was a finalist for haircutting and color. While attending hair shows in Grand Rapids, Minneapolis, and Cincinnati she was able to work with some of the best educators in the industry including Van Michael Salon, and Paul Mitchell.

Education is very important to Salon Nouveau Vous as well as Missy. Missy continues to attend hair shows and classes several times a year to make her clients look their very best not just when they are in the salon but every day in between!



Susannah Pfeifer

Susannah started her career in 2005. She attended school in Traverse City at the TBA School of Cosmetology, and has since continued her training with Jen Planck and Adrienne Rogers; focusing on color technique, and the Vidal Sassoon Team; focusing on hair cutting and styling.  Each spring she attends a weekend of educational workshops held in Chicago focusing on currents trends and upcoming styles, and also attends hands on workshops throughout the year.  “I am enthusiastic about learning new skills and being challenged every day to be better than the day before.  I am committed to my customer’s satisfaction and take pride in the work I do.”  Susannah enjoys working with all hair types, men, women, and children, and teaching her clients how to achieve the look they want by sharing her product knowledge and training.

In 2009 Susannah started working with makeup and creating looks for brides and wedding parties. She continued training with Mirabella’s makeup artist Emily Carter to create looks for every face and every occasion.  Her goal is to assist and educate her customers so they are confident in their ability to create the same looks she does.



Chelsea Maynard

Chelsea attended the Up North School of Cosmetology after graduating Cheboygan Area High School in 2013. After passing the state of Michigan licensing exams Chelsea joined Salon Nouveau Vous and trained with Tim Dunaway from July 2014 to May 2015. She has attended several color theory and artistry classes through local and National Paul Mitchell educators also training hands on with nationally recognized and noted stylist Kelly Cardenas. Her goal as a stylist is to create fresh looks that feel great and can easily recreated by guests at home with ease.



Stephanie Kornoely

Stephanie joined Salon Nouveau Vous August of 2014 after being fully licensed in cosmetology. She is passionate about people and helping them to feel the best they can. Having spent over five years practicing massage she is licensed as a medical massage therapist, she decided to branch into cosmetology. Stephanie spent ten months training and assisting Tim Dunaway, enhancing her knowledge in the art of hair cutting, coloring and styling. In addition to her in salon training, Stephanie has trained with Paul Mitchell educator Kelly Cardenas, attends trade shows, and is inspired by national artists such as Noogi Thai, Linda Yodice and Robert Cromeans. She is available for hair services as well as manicures, pedicures facial waxing and make up artistry. "I am excited to work with people and help them feel and look great!"


Abigail Rae

Abigail graduated from Paul Mitchell the school Escanaba in 2013. She has a big passion for Makeup and Nails and that will be her main focus here at Salon Nouveau Vous. Her goal is to help teach her guest's the basics of makeup so that they can recreate the looks themselves. She is very excited to have joined this team!
